Delete a farm feature - solved

Feb 18, 2013 at 10:37 AM
Hi again
I need to delete some Farm features (Reporting Services) but I get
ERROR READING FEATURE [5f2e3537-91b5-4341-86ff-90c6a2f99aae], Scope: ScopeInvalid
and I can't remove it
Any solutions ?

Probably best to say what version of the program you're using, and what version of SharePoint.

You could try stsadm to see what results that gives you?

I just verified that the current source can successfully remove a farm feature on SharePoint 2007.

Can't use stsadm because I daon't have a valid xml file
It's missing

It's best, I think, to say what version of the program you are using, and what version of SharePoint you are using.

What means "I can't remove it".
Did you try to hit the uninstall button in feature admin?

(You should have owner rights to the sp config db and be member of the farm admin group.)

And as Perry states, please provide more information, what environment you are working in.

Thanks,

Achim

It means is not showing in the UI
And yes I am farm admin
It's SP2013
And I solved by deleting all references from the db

This Problem is fixed with the release 2.3 of FeatureAdmin for SP2013.

There is a new property Compatibility Level available in SP2013, when Feature definitions are uninstalled(/removed).
This was not recognized before. Now, this property is tracked and set when removing Feature definitions.

Issue solved.
