How to remove PowerPivot from SharePoint 2010 Database - solved

Dec 10, 2012 at 2:15 AM

Hello and thank you for such a great project!

I was wondering how to remove PowerPivot from a SharePoint 2010 Content Database because I have moved the database to my SharePoint 2013 / SQL 2012 SP1 environment. After moving it I ran the Test-SPContentDatabase cmdlet to test the DB for problems and I do get one, it says something about missing assemblies for "Microsoft.AnalysisServices.SharePoint.Integration, Version=, Culture=neutral" which I have been told is from PowerPivot.

I see features using your application but I don't know what is safe to remove to remedy this problem.

Any help is appreciated, Thank you!!!!

Hello Michael,

this is hard to tell. It would require an analysis of your farm.

Try to setup the content database on a dev envrionment, there it is save to remove and delete everything.
There, remove one thing after the other and check, when the message dissapears.

e.g. If the log does not provide any information, disable/uninstall Features, Remove Solutions, Webparts, SubSites or complete SiteCollections to narrow down the problematic item that references MS Analysis Services.

Kind Regards,
